SQL Developer / Full Stack Application Developer (Contract-to-Hire | 100% Onsite – Dallas, TX)

Location: Dallas, TX 75235 (Onsite at Dallas Love Field Airport)

Duration: Contract to Hire

Work Schedule: 100% onsite with flexible hours (e.g., 7–4, 8–5, etc.); eligible for 1 day/week remote after successful ramp-up

Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship

Background Check: Must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) background check & Transportation Security Administration (TSA) upon hire

Interview Process: 1-hour virtual panel interview via Microsoft Teams

The SQL Developer / Full Stack Application Developer will support major software development initiatives for a GTS Customer in an airport operations environment, including a high-priority Scheduling Platform, a custom, internally developed appointment and calendaring system that integrates with a third-party airport operations solution. This role requires a highly skilled, independent developer who can design and optimize databases, build robust backend services, and develop modern front-end features. The ideal candidate is strong in SQL, .NET Core, API development, and contemporary UI frameworks, and can own projects end-to-end with minimal supervision while meeting aggressive timelines.

Database Development & Architecture

• Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases supporting enterprise applications.
• Create and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, views, and functions.
• Perform database installation, configuration, tuning, indexing, and performance monitoring.
• Implement and verify regular backup and recovery processes and ensure data integrity.
• Create and manage data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes between systems.

Application & API Development

• Build, maintain, and enhance .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, Razor, and Web API applications.
• Develop secure, scalable backend services supporting scheduling workflows and integrations with third-party platforms.
• Use ORM tools such as Entity Framework and LLBLGen Pro for efficient data access.

Front-End Development

• Develop responsive, dynamic user interfaces using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, React, Angular, jQuery, AJAX, and Kendo UI .
• Implement real-time features using SignalR to support live updates and user interactions.
• Ensure intuitive, user-friendly front-end experiences for internal users and external stakeholders.

Reporting & Analytics

• Design and integrate reports using Telerik Reporting, RDLC , and Microsoft Power BI .
• Build dashboards and analytics to support operational and business decision-making.

Automation, Scripting & DevOps Practices

• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and background job schedulers to automate routine tasks.
• Utilize Git, SVN, or TFS for version control and Jira/Balsamiq or similar tools for collaboration and wireframing.
• Work with tools such as Visual Studio, VS Code, Redgate, SQL Profiler, NPM, and related utilities.

Hybrid Mobile & Auxiliary Development (As Needed)

• Support existing hybrid mobile applications using Cordova, Framework7, PhoneGap, and Android Studio , as required.

Project Ownership & Collaboration

• Work independently to create and manage development plans, milestones, and deliverables.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, refine user stories, and translate needs into technical solutions.
• Participate in knowledge transfer and work alongside the current developer during transition to ensure continuity.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of professional experience in SQL Server development.
• Strong expertise in T-SQL , database design, performance tuning, and optimization.
• 5+ years of experience building full-stack applications using .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, Web API , and related technologies.
• Hands-on experience with modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular) and component libraries such as Kendo UI.
• Experience with ORM frameworks such as Entity Framework and/or LLBLGen Pro.
• Experience with reporting tools (Telerik, RDLC, Power BI).
• Familiarity with authentication and security mechanisms such as ASP.NET Identity , SAML, and JWT .
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver solutions with minimal oversight.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with both technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in airport operations, transportation, or other highly regulated environments.
• Experience integrating custom applications with large third-party platforms.
• Exposure to C++ or Java is a plus.
