What youll do

• Build, maintain, and optimize backend services and infrastructure that support Ubers global user-facing products and internal platforms.
• Design and implement high-quality, testable, and maintainable code using programming languages like Java, Go, Python, or C++ to solve well-defined technical tasks.
• Collaborate across disciplinesincluding product, design, and data scienceto ship thoughtful and practical solutions at Ubers hyperscale.
• Participate in oncall rotations and apply best practices to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve production incidents with team guidance.
• Own your work endtoend, from drafting technical documentation and design docs to monitoring product quality and fixing inefficiencies in the production environment.

Basic qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field in 2025 or 2026.
• Proficient experience with data structures, algorithms, and one or more programming languages such as Java, Go, C/C++, or Python.

Preferred qualifications

• Desire to work with a team that delivers highimpact results every day while navigating largescale distributed systems.
• Grit, drive, and a strong sense of ownership coupled with an appetite for collaboration and constant learning.
• Proficiency in writing understandable, maintainable software and a curiosity to explore different solutions for complex problems.
• Experience or interest in building distributed systems at hyperscale and making practical tradeoffs based on business needs.

For NewYork,NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$150,000 per year USD$158,000 per year.

For SanFrancisco,CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$150,000 per year USD$158,000 per year.

For Seattle,WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$150,000 per year USD$158,000 per year.

For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Ubers bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of compensation. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
