ABOUT THE POSITION The Elevator Operator position is responsible for the general elevator operations with respect to receiving, storing, and shipping of grain at the grain elevator and other company grain storage facilities. A description of the duties includes: Dumps grain and loads trucks, clean up grain spills; Inspects grain for insects, moisture, and foreign material while unloading grain trucks; Reads temperature cables on control panel to ascertain grain temperatures at various levels in storage tanks in a timely manner; Starts conveyors, selects flow pipes, sets trippers, and selects storage tanks to convey grain into storage; Performs routine maintenance and repair on all elevator equipment; Assists with inventory controls as directed; Responsible for cleaning and maintenance of vehicles and equipment as qualified and report issues; Responsible for maintaining clean facilities, and complying with all state and federal regulations pertaining to a safe workplace, housekeeping, and all activities that require regulation compliance; Attends training and safety meetings; Effectively communicates by verbal and written means with customers, employees and management; Maintains and promotes safety awareness; follows safety policies, procedures and reporting requirements; Present a clean and professional appearance; Employee is required to perform all other duties as directed by the supervisor.
