We are currently seeking an ideal candidate for the position of Database Manager to support an upcoming proposal with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Overview Position Description Responsibilities Design and manage Oracle-based relational and spatial databases for marine research data. Develop and maintain data validation and workflow automation procedures. Support integration of databases with analytical tools and web-based applications (e.g., RShiny). Provide technical documentation and support to users; ensure metadata and security protocols are maintained. Requirements Master's degree or higher in computer science, ecology, or related field. More than 5 years of applicable experience Strong proficiency with Oracle databases, SQL, and spatial data tools (e.g., ArcGIS). Proficient in R and R shiny Familiarity with managing telemetry, survey, and biological sample data. Proficiency in data quality control, backup, and user support procedures. Ability to collaborate with scientists and data analysts on cross-functional projects.
